International Quilt Day 2017
A great opportunity to join with friends to sew, knowing that quilters worldwide will be doing the same.
We usually like to have a charity theme to our days, but this is not compulsory, feel free to bring along any sewing project that you wish to work on.
Also remember to bring all the sewing equipment you might need. There will be a couple of large irons and ironing boards for shared use.

We have two main quilts that we would like to work on, all instructions will be given on the day
1. I SPY JAR QUILT - we need to collect 5"x 5" squares of fabric of 'collections ' - e.g apples, insects, balls, teddies, umbrellas etc...

Almost any picture fabric can be used for the jars, use your imagination.
These quilts will be great conversation pieces for children.
Could you really get umbrellas in a jar?
Would monkeys live in a jar? Where do monkeys really live?
Bring your fabrics along to Heather Quilters in February or to the IQD on March 19th
2. PENCIL CRAYONS - fun colourful quilts

We need to collect fabrics 21/2" x 6" in a range of colours - think PENCIL BOXES
Fabrics do not have to be plain, patterns are fine as long as the predominant colour is obvious.

This finished quilt shows another possibility with the pencils made up of patterned rectangles.
Beautiful.
