Heather Quilters was formed in 1987 - the page heading shows a part of the Signature Quilt made by members at that time.

The group met originally in the afternoons in each other's homes, and then the Adult Education Centre in Camberley for evening meetings with Speakers. From the beginning Heather Quilters was a lively group, organising coaches to the National Shows, setting challenges and hosting their own patchwork and quilting exhibitions.
The first newsletter was produced in 1989 and makes interesting reading. Sheila Houston has a file of newsletters up to 2007 and it's great to see that so many of the names mentioned, are still on our current membership list.

Some of the quilts created by members in those early years were placed on display as part of our 25 years exhibition.
